Job Docket privacy policy
Last updated: 1 November 2026
Introduction
CevicLabs operates the Job Docket application. This page explains how we handle data when you use it. In short: we don't, you do.
How Job Docket handles your data
Job Docket is built as a local-first tool. It has no internet permission, so the app itself cannot send anything over the network. That's not a compliance phrase, it's the actual design:
- Local storage. Every job log, client record and maintenance note lives in a private database on your own device. Android's cloud backup is switched off for Job Docket, so nothing is copied to your Google account either.
- Location. Location is optional and only used when you ask for it. Job Docket asks for location permission the first time you tap the location button on a job, and then records where that job is. Adding a location to photos is a setting that is off by default. Location data stays on your device and is never sent to us. It only leaves your phone if you send a report or backup that contains it (see below).
- Contact details. You can store your own business email address and phone number, and your clients' names, email addresses and phone numbers. They live in the same private database on your device.
- Camera and photos. When you photograph site work, Job Docket borrows your phone's own camera app rather than asking for camera access itself. The photos are saved to the app's private storage on your device. We never see your photo library, and we couldn't if we wanted to. Photos only leave your phone if you attach them to a report you send, or in a backup.
Purchases
Job Docket is free for your first 10 jobs and 3 reports. After that, you can unlock it with a yearly subscription bought through Google Play. Google handles the payment under its own privacy policy, and we never see your card details. Google Play may share limited order information with us, such as an order number, so we can handle refunds and support. On your phone, the app only checks with Google Play whether your subscription is active, and keeps that answer and the free-use counters on your device.
Sharing your data
CevicLabs never receives your data. Job Docket doesn't send it to our servers, to cloud storage or to anyone else, and we don't sell it.
Job Docket does let you share your own data when you choose to: a backup file, or a finished job report as a PDF. You can send either one wherever you like, using your phone's own share function: email, Google Drive, OneDrive, wherever suits you. That choice, and that transfer, is entirely yours. Job Docket itself never sends anything anywhere on its own.
When you send a job report, Job Docket fills in your client's email address as the recipient. The report itself shows your business email and phone number, and your client's email address. These details go only to the app you pick and the people you send them to, and that app handles them under its own privacy policy. A backup file holds everything in the app, including these contact details. Reports can also include names, addresses, the job location, photos, the customer's signature and your job notes. Because any of this can leave your phone when you send it, Job Docket's data safety section on Google Play lists names, email addresses, phone numbers, addresses, precise location, photos, files (the report PDF and backup file) and other content you enter. None of it ever reaches CevicLabs.
Deleting your data
Your data is on your device, so you control it. Delete jobs in the app to remove them. Uninstalling Job Docket, or clearing its storage in Android settings, deletes everything the app holds. Backups and PDF reports you have shared yourself stay wherever you sent them, and you can delete them there. We hold no data about you, so there is nothing for us to delete. To cancel your subscription, use the Google Play Store app (Payments and subscriptions).
